Auggie may look like a rough and tough dog, but really, he is a shy dog who just wants love. Auggie found himself in a big city shelter, and because he is unsure of himself, he barked at anyone who came to look at him. Because of this and because there just isn't enough room in these big shelters for all the dogs taken in, Auggie was going to be euthanized. We found out about Auggie, and thanks to several people, including a pilot, he was transported to our rescue. Now Auggie is learning to trust people and after recovering from his neuter surgery, will be introduced gradually to mellow dogs who won't frighten him. Auggie loves to play with balls and rope toys. He loves to run around in a grassy yeard, and he really likes the safety and security of his own kennel and blanket. Auggie will make a wonderful companion for an adult or older child who is willing to continue his confidence building. Auggie is a young adult, keeps his space clean and tidy, and weighs about 50 pounds.
